Mini Microwaves

Hey guys. Here we are – with another review. This time our friend Mike got it for us. I’ve asked him kindly to write a short article and… well, I guess was just in the mood for writing, because we’ve got a long one here! Hope you enjoy it. There it goes:

“I am very pleased with this microwave from LG. While it takes a lot of space in the kitchen, as compared to the mini microwaves without hot air function, but it also has much more to offer.
My absolute favorite thing to make is the frozen pizza. Because the microwave is so large that it fits in an entire pizza and one can, thus, make a pizza that tastes as delicious as from the oven. Only that the cooking in the microwave is much faster and significantly less power is consumed, because the microwave and hot air functions are optimally combined. First, the pizza is thawed by the microwave function, and then baked crisp with hot air. As compared to other microwaves, this one is much smaller and the thawing is quicker with microwaves, it saves a lot of elecricity costs and time. Total time 12 minutes. At the time of the preheated oven might be straight, but by no means it finishes the pizza in 12 minutes. The service is super easy. There is a separate “frozen pizza button” on the housing and so that you can bake with 2 clicks and without major setting up before getting that pizza that you want to eat. For other things, there are also practical keys to save to a lot of settings. Even the “normal” microwave function, with no hot air, works great and I used it many times and didn’t encounter any kinds of problems.

In addition to the glass turntable in delivery are also two practical round grill grates that can be put on the turntable, and especially for pizza, etc. to use.

A few negative things:
The protective film, in which the device is sealed in the supply, is very hard to unpack. The foil is attached to the device and it makes it a little harder to get it out of the box. I had to put a little effort in it, but after about 15 minutes, after using my craft knife, I carefully worked around it and it was finally out of the box. I had to be super careful to protect it against possible scratches, but I luckily avoided the scratches and therefor I saved the warranty. So be careful with this, it can ruin your warranty if you’re not careful enough!

Another negative point is that the device, when using the function very hot, it actually gets very hot too quickly. If I make a pizza and right after a second, then the device switches to the second pizza automatically as it’s programmed to do that. That means that it has an overheating protection. Then you have to wait several minutes until the unit comes on and cooled down again, so that we can keep going. It is noted in the manual that it requires an adequate air supply need. But it’s pretty impossible to have that much space so that there is no wall or any kind of obstacle on the sides of the microwave. For me, the air supply is not quite optimal, because the device is in a corner and to the rear and side are only 10-20cm square. But for a pizza with hot air function it is enough for me. And if I want to have another pizza, I just wait a few minutes before I start the second round. This heat problem appears if there is insufficient air. Recommended and I’d give it 9 out of 10 stars!”

We’re not going to waste any time and we’re going to start with a review right away!

What we’re going to review is the Sewerin MX mini microwave. I’ve got a friend of mine to write me a review and allow me to publish it. So, here it is:

“I have the microwave for about half a year and am so completely satisfied. It is, in my opinion, especially suitable for small households and for singles and students.

Since I had no oven in my student flat, and especially because I have very little space, I was looking for a mini microwave, which is capable of an oven or less (substitute), and especially occupies little space. And I was lucky enough to find the Severin MX microwave. Its shallow depth is especially persuasive and is only 41 cm. Other microwaves usually function with hot air and are at least 10 cm more in depth. I can also put my cupboard in the microwave and heat it up without any problems. That was also problematic in terms of heat with some of the other irons. Also pay attention to where you put them! They tend to get very hot, so not suited to hanging them under the kitchen cabinet install. Despite the low depth, the interior is large enough.

For microwave power itself, I can not say much because I have not done so much heat, but everything was really beautiful and even warm, very quickly warmed up the food and milk. However, since I would rather prefer a slightly longer warm up time, instead of the court while the outside is quickly burning hot nor cold, but in the middle.

Mainly I’ve used the hot air to warm up my tea and milk. This has worked out great. The buns were always right crisp. Also ready-made pizzas can be very good at baking, but I would advise against the automatic function. So that the pizza was pretty mushy. I bake it almost always hot at the time and place an ever-slightly longer than stated, so that the soil is reasonably crisp. Thus, even a hundred percent crispy pizzas are not like that, but for such a device I had not much more promise in the real oven, it is indeed usually not as crisp as the pizza oven.

Overall I am very satisfied, especially for the still relatively low price. Ideal for students. I recommend it if you’re looking for a mini microwave and don’t have a lot of money to spend on it. It’s really good and I’ve been having it for a year now, no problems with it. Its power didn’t lower or anything similar.”
